How to Install ActiveX on Internet Explorer

So you just got a new DVR/NVR, great! You want to use the browser interface to view your cameras, but for some reason Internet Explorer is not running the application. Chances are you need to update the ActiveX settings on Internet Explorer.

Not sure how to do that? No problem! Here's a step by step tutorial to guide you through the process.

Step 1: Open Internet explorer

Step 2: Click on the Tools menu, then click Internet Options

Step 3: Click over to the Security Tab and select Custom Level

Step 4: Scroll down the Security Settings list until you reach ActiveX controls and plug-ins

Step 5: Click Enable for Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls

Step 6: Continue down the list to reach Download signed ActiveX controls and click Prompt

Step 7: Continue down the list to reach Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins and click  Prompt

Step 8: Continue down the list to reach Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting and click Enable or Prompt

Step 9: Click OK then click OK again to save your settings.
